Joining an iLinc Session

 

Joining an iLinc session is very simple, just follow the steps below.

1. From the e-mail Invitation, click on the link next to "Join this meeting."

2. Fill out the form you are presented with your information and click Submit.

·      Internet Explorer: When joining with Internet Explorer, click the yellow “Information Bar” and choose to install the ActiveX Plugin. Follow the prompts you receive & this will streamline joining future sessions.

 

·      Mozilla Firefox: Click on the Join button, then click Run. You will get a dialog box asking if you want to save a file called Session.exe. Click Save, and Session.exe will appear in your Downloads window.

 

·                      Macintosh: When joining via the Mac platform, a separate dialog box will open asking if you want to save the .JNLP file or open it with Java Web Start. Click OK and the client file will download. If it asks for permission to run, click Allow. The iLinc client will automatically open.

 


3. If nothing happens automatically, click the "Manual Join" button to initiate the process.



4. If you receive any prompts, choose Run if possible (rather than saving the file) and answer yes to any other prompts you get. If your firewall or security program (i.e. Norton, McAfee, Black Ice) prompts you about iLinc, please choose to "Allow" the program to proceed so that you can join the session.
